Le Golfe du Morbihan

Located on the Atlantic seaboard Armorican, Gulf of Morbihan (small sea in Breton) has given its name to the department. It is indeed a small inland sea enclosed by the peninsula Rhuys, which covers some 100 km2 (21 km long and 5 km wide). A narrow passage where currents are violent, enables communication with the ocean. There are 300 islands of which about thirty are inhabited. Two of them form a district: Arz and the Ile-aux-Moines. Its mild climate, sunny, and the beauty of its rugged coastline makes of the Gulf of Morbihan famous tourist place. Trails. The discovery of the Gulf of Morbihan by boat or from one of its shores, never cease to amaze you with its unusual and changing landscapes, which vary depending on the tide and the vagaries of weather. Thousands of acres of cliffs, beaches, seagrass beds, salt marshes are home to nearly 150 000 waterbirds: stilt, little egret, crested mergansers, gulls, etc. ...
