Parallel to the parish church, Notre-Dame de Recouvrance chapel , listed historical monument, dates from the 16th century. Placed under the patronage of Our Lady of Recouvrance, this shrine is dedicated to sailors. The chapel was a place of pilgrimage for the mothers and wives of sailors without news of their missing. The Day of Atonement, the custom was that they throw pieces of bread in the fountain. If the bread was flowing, the sailor and his boat were lost. In the 1980s, murals paintings of the 16th and 17th centuries were discovered under layers of lime. The latest show scenes from the Passion of Christ. As part of Art Detour, the chapel is open from 12 July to 12 September 2010. Contact the Tourist Office of Auray or the Town Hall of Ploëmel to know the opening days and hours.
