Malestroit

Petites cités de caractère (pequeñas ciudades con carácter)

A millennial city and a former barony of Brittany, it preserves several Gothic and Renaissance half-timbered houses from its past. In the centre of the city, Place du Bouffay is unique in its kind with its curious statuettes hanging on the facades of the narrow alleys. City labelled ""Petites Cités de Caractère"" and which has the appellation ""Escales d'une rive à l'autre"".

The ""Pearl of Oust"", a thousand-year-old city, is a former barony of Brittany. It preserves from its past several Gothic and Renaissance half-timbered houses. In the centre of the city, Place du Bouffay is unique in its kind with its curious statues hanging on the facades of the narrow streets and the Saint-Gilles church (12th and 16th centuries). Some of the city's houses bear amusing and sometimes provocative sculptures, traditional in the Middle Ages.
Malestroit is a town with the ""Petite Cité de Caractère"" and ""Escale d'une rive à l'autre"" labels, which designate the most beautiful riverside sites of the canals and waterways of western France. Malestroit is crossed by the Oust River. Narrow alleys from the four suburbs surrounding the historic centre open up access to the Nantes-Brest canal, locks and the towpath.
Located in a green setting of woods and valleys, Malestroit generates an atmosphere of tranquility and freshness. Renowned events take place every summer with the Canal Fridays and the Pont du Roch music festival"
